Meet Jason "JT" Thomas: Your Coach
With nearly 20 years under my belt, I’m here to share my expertise as your business and health coach. I blend professionalism with a dash of humor to ensure you not only achieve your goals but also enjoy the journey. If you want to know more about me, you came to the right place.
You're doing the work. So why does it feel like nothing is moving?
You’re posting. Showing up. Running the business. But the leads aren’t coming in, the brand isn’t landing, and somewhere along the way you stopped taking care of yourself, too. You don’t need more motivation. You need someone who’s been exactly where you are — and figured the way out.
I know what it’s like to look around and wonder how you got here.
I was sitting in a jail cell when that question hit me the hardest. A guard threw my breakfast tray through the bars. It hit the floor. I sat on that metal bed staring at the mess and thought: How did a kid with this much promise end up here?
That was my rock bottom. And it was the best thing that ever happened to me.
"I wasn't born a jerk. I was a Boy Scout. But somewhere between needing money and not caring who I ran over to get it, I lost the plot."
Jason "JT" Thomas
I grew up in low-middle America. My parents were loving and did everything they could, but money was always tight — and that reality lit a fire in me early. By eight, I was mowing lawns. By fifteen, I was making more than I could spend. But I was also doing it the wrong way, and the universe eventually put me somewhere I couldn’t ignore the bill.
When I got out of jail, I rebuilt. Slowly. Honestly. I worked my way into personal training, coaching MMA fighters, then launched a paddleboard company, then became national sales director for Knockerball USA — scaling it to 150 affiliates and over $1M in year one. Then came an archery venture, a solo product line, and eventually a coaching business built around gym owners and water sports companies.
Then 2020 hit. Six figures to zero, overnight.
I went back to basics. Got hired as a business analyst with no MBA, traveled the country mid-pandemic helping small businesses stay alive, and delivered over $3 million in collective growth in my first year. But I also saw something in the mirror I’d been ignoring: I was overweight, burned out, and disconnected. I’d stopped applying the same care to myself that I gave everyone else.
That’s when the pieces finally clicked.
Business. Brand. Body. You can't win at one while losing at the other two. I learned that the hard way so you don't have to.
Jason "JT" Thomas
Nearly 20 years of building, failing, rebuilding, and coaching later — I know one thing for certain. There is no single silver bullet. But there is a system. And at the center of it is something most people overlook entirely:
Empathy. Not the soft kind. The tactical kind. The kind that lets you decode what your clients actually need, disarm the conversations that could derail you, and connect with people in a way that manipulation never could. It’s not a weakness. It’s the sharpest tool I have.
I work with established business owners — people who have a real foundation and a real vision, but feel stuck, invisible, or stretched too thin. My job is to get you unstuck. To help you build the brand that actually reflects who you are, fill the pipeline that’s been running dry, and make sure the person running the business is healthy enough to keep running it.
I’m not here to impress you with credentials. I’m here because I’ve been where you are — and I know the way out.

Ready to work with someone who's actually been there?
Let’s talk about where you are, where you want to go, and whether I’m the right person to help you get there.

My Career In A Nutshell

My coaching career started back on 2009 when I opened my first business as a strength coach & personal trainer. I had the honor to work with a few professional fighters and several junior athletes. This is where my love for helping others succeed started.

A few years after opening my fitness business I had the opportunity to get into the watersports industry and I became the 5th ever person to be certified by the World Stand Up Paddleboarding Association as a Paddleboarding Instructor on the East Coast. Shortly after, Hau Hele Wai Paddlboarding was born. (Hau Hele Wai = Walk on water in Hawaiian)

In 2014 the viral sensation know as Bubble Soccer was created. I saw an amazing opportunity to start a party rental business and went all in! Things went so well that the manufacturer (Knockerball USA) brought me on to help build an affiliate program and teach others how to run a Knockerball rental business. Ya, I even got paid to do this, lol!!!

Running on the high from the success of Knockerball I decided it was my time to try the manufacturing world. Think dodgeball meets paintball but for the bow and arrows set and you'll get an idea for what we were doing. Action Archery quickly rose to being one of the largest suppliers of combat archery gear and we opened over 150 affiliate locations in the first year alone.

Manufacturing was fun, but I ultimately decided to make my exit from the business just a few years in. We did great, but I wanted more. That brought me back to what I loved, helping others be better at what they do. This time it took the form of Business, Marketing, & Sales coaching.
But like many others, COVID didn't agree with my plans...

As it turns out, closing Big Wave was a good thing. Shortly after closing the doors I had the opportunity to join an outstanding group of business champions on the same mission as I was. The mission to help other be even better at what they do. Unfortunately, at the time I felt like the constant travel was too much and decided to leave.

After coming home and getting off the road fate seemingly introduced me to some friends of friends who ran a personal branding agency. Quickly following that introduction I became a Business Agent for the Celebrity Branding Agency and spent the next 3 years learning about how to build powerful and impressive brands that get noticed.

I loved the time I had with the Celebrity Branding Agency. But, oddly enough, the travel that originally made me want to stop working with Global Resources was what in fact brought me back. I've dedicated my life to helping others become Bigger, Better, Badder versions of who they were when I met them.

My time at Global Resources taught me something I couldn't unlearn: the consulting world is more interested in billing hours than changing lives. When a toxic client situation made it clear that my boss cared more about the contract than the people doing the work, I was done. Going back out on my own wasn't just a business decision — it was a values decision. Working for myself means I get to go deep with the people I work with, stay in their corner as we build something real, and choose who I invest my energy in. That last part matters more than most people realize. Managing the energy in your life is one of the most underrated keys to long-term success.
Still here? Good.
Most people read this and keep scrolling. The ones who don’t are exactly who I work with. If any part of that story sounds familiar, we should probably talk.
